My new apartment...

Well it certainly takes some getting used to if you have lived in 3m by 2m room for the last couple of years. It is bliss to live in a normal apartment again with a room, separate sitting room, a kitchen and the best of all a huge balcony with a view of the South African bush.

There is nothing in the world like a African sunset.

Pics of my new apartment, its a working progress with not too much decor yet. So stay tuned for future updates.

Back in SA... Ayoba! Its time for Africa

AYOBA, is a slang term used by South Africans to express amazement! And there can be no more fitting word to express the feeling of the 2010 World Cup Soccer in South Africa.

We started off with an amazing opening ceremony, one which South Africa can be proud of and leave the rest of the world amazed at what we achieved.

Celebrities, Soccer (Football) stars, and great people from all over the world are here to add a bit of spice to the already diverse South Africa.

Here are some of the pictures of what the Fan Fest areas look like and then pics of the Italy vs New Zealand game that I went to see at the Mbombela Stadium in Mpumalanga.

 Mbombela Stadium

 Stacked out!!!

Ola to all my new Chilean friends who stayed with us. Also to the Italians and the Kiwis.
Great to have you guys in SA.

me and all the staff from the lodge. Go BAFANA BAFANA!!!

The all whites go all out!

  Italia proud of their team.

Grab you MAKARAPA and VUVUZELA, jump on the Gautrain for a fun ride to Sandton and catch a taxi to Soccer City!

Schools Rugby!

When did schools get so serious about things. Going to a school level rugby match nowadays are basically the same thing as going to the match played on national level.
There are "famous" rugby players sitting next to the field keeping an eye on the game to see who the next person to become a Springbok is going to be, parents go crazy on the side, all dressed up in their "school" clothes and there are mascots carried around the field by the poor juniors.

There is an incredible feeling of tradition and pride in the air and it makes you feel you want to be back in school to be part of it.

Or maybe not, who misses homework and PT classes. Ugh!

 My cousin in action.

A try worthy of getting a gold medal!

Museum of Siam

The Museum of Siam is located on the 2.8 acre ground of the former ministry of commerce on Sanam Chai road as a part of the old town district - the center of living heritage. The compound consists of three main building of which the main one of interest is the permanent exhibition building which was built during the reign of King Rama VI in Neo Classical style. Within this building you can view the exhibition entitled " The Account of Thailand"

The history of Thailand unfolds via exhibitions and interactive video displays from ancient times up to the present day. The exhibition enables visitors to learn about how the ancestors of South East Asia developed societies and cultures, settled to create towns, cities and eventually the modern countries of the present day.

Who are Thais and what is the meaning of Thainess are some of the types of questions that a visit to this museum will answer.
