History of Patrol Boat 813 (BURETPADUNGKIT)



The Patrol Boat 813 is under Marine Police Station 1, Division 8, Marine Police Bureau, Pak Nam Sub District, Mueang District, Ranong Province. It was built in 1994 by Marson Company Limited in Samut Prakarn Province.

The contractual building price was 49 500 000 baht (import tax free). The boat construction control was conformed the standard of Lloyd's Register of Shipping of United Kingdom. The boat body was made of aluminum alloy, grade 5083, 80.85 feet, body length 19.49 feet, mid body width 6 feet water draught, 650 nautical mile radian of responsible area 28.92 knot of maximum speed and 6800 liter fuel tank capacity.

The main objectives are:

* To protect and secure VIP's of the country on lives and properties
* To assure that the area is in control
* To maintain the environment and the country stability
* To detect, investigate, prevent and suppress crimes
* To search and save boats, aviation vehicles and victims from water hazard
* To support the station works and coordinate with related organizations and offices

Prior to the Tsunami Disaster devastation, patrol boat 813 was anchoring in front of La Flora Resort about 1 nautical mile offshore in order to protect and secure Her Royal Highness Ubonrat Rajakanya SiriwaddhanaPhannawadee and her son and daughters until the Tsunami devastated the Andaman coast. The strength of the giant wave took away the Patrol boat 813 approximately 2 kilometers eastward to the mainland were it stands today.
