Phuket Butterfly and Insect World is not only the largest in Thailand but also the most authentic.
It is a tropical garden filled with almost six thousand butterflies (40 different species), dragon flies, spiders, fish and much more. You have to be careful where you walk as you could tread on a delicate little butterfly at any time.
It contains a garden area where most of the butterflies can be seen in action, flying around, feeding on nectar, sitting in the shade and breeding. It also has a educational area where you can learn all the ins and outs about how butterflies go from larva stage to adult butterflies, a silk factory and a breeding station where they are kept in cages for safety and released once they are ready.
