Thailand - The first days

So we arrived - dead tired, we were told to put our bags down in a cornor of the shop and we were huddled into these Thai taxis to go and see the town, on our first orientation tour...

I think we missed half of what "Rabbit" said - our guide and instructor as we were literally falling asleep. We sorted out our cellphones, had a sandwich and a coffee and something like five ours later we got back to our base to complete a whole bunch of forms and liability releases.

Our taxi arrived and we were wisked off to our "new home" - It is quit small with the basics, but quite cosy.

On our first day - we went to the beach, as we didn't feel like diving yet as we were still a bit jet lagged. The beach consists of hundreds of "deck style" chairs, your own little table and guys who run up and down bringing you cold drinks, beer, coconuts and al sorts of food.

You feel like your a king with servants at you beck and call.

In our first week we went out to the famous "Walking street" - probably the most famous street in the whole of Thailand. The street is a hustle and bustle of people, 24/7. None one ever sleeps. In the mornings you will still find the common patrons to the go go bars in walking street on the cornor of some little Thai restaurant or simply a couple of tables on a pavement having breakfast as they never or very seldomly go home.

If strippers and just about anything else involving porn etc. is your thing, this is certainly the place to be.

We were still a bit scared to just wonder off into the unknown on our first night in walking street so we opted for a sports bar where we could watch some Thai boxing and a snake charmer doing his thing with a live cobra.

Also Eugene and Ricardo (From Portugal) got lucky enough to be pictured with one of the Thai boxers., or so we thought. They love having their pictures taken - they literally storm you.

You also have t pay them money after the fight. All worth the show...
