The Floating Market

We decided to move hotels and found ourselves in Rambuttri road, much nicer hotel and much more quiet at night time.

We booked ourselves a full day tour and off in the minibus we went.

First stop the Floating Market.

This is about a 40 minute drive from Bangkok and here you can find just about anything either in stalls lined up along the waterway or inside boats on the waterway. To reach the floating market you must take a longtail boat through a few channels, splashing muddy water all around you, but you get to see traditional Thai style of living all along the river.

Small children wave at you as you pass trying to hide your camera from the splashing.

Loads of typical Thai souvenirs, but we found that everything was priced three to four times as much as what the exact same thing would be at the weekend market, so didn't shop too much. The stall owners were however very ready to bargain the price down in true Thai style.
