Next Stop The River Kwai


Another bit of driving and we reached the famous Bridge over the River Kwai. This bridge of course was used by the Japanese to transport goods to Burma (Myanmar) during the war. They used prisoners of war to contruct the bridge. First a wooden temporary one and then the steel one that we see today. Many people died during these years...

Well, we saw it from all angles and then walked the length of it. Setting our feet straight into the history of the death railway.

Beautiful setting with small roadside stalls and a restaurant with flowers everywhere.


I still need to watch the movie...
