Return to the Royal Palace

After a day of walking and walking and more walking yesterday, we had a relaxing day at Central World, eating ice cream for breakfast and buying suitcases so that mom can get all her shopping home and have less hassles with hand luggage and so that I can pack my life up when I move to my next adventure in the near future.

Another nights sleep in the hustle and bustle of Khao San road and up again early the next day. Had a nice breakfast at Subway and headed for the World of Gems and then to the Royal Palace.

The Royal Palace changed since I was there about a year ago. It now houses a small scale Angkor Wat, the Emerald Buddha was sitting aloft in his summer dress.

This remains a beautiful place to visit, with buildings that have just so much detail and stunning gardens. There was unfortunately a funeral on the grounds so we couldn't reach the museum but we saw all the royal buildings.

Had a great day including a few fights with a Tuk Tuk driver who was being a typical warned about Tuk Tuk driver according to all the guide books. He simply didn't want to listen to us and decided to take us to tailors etc. so that he could get diesel vouchers and when we refused to waste our time and go somewhere we don't want to be, as we only had so much time to spend at the Royal Palace he stopped to argue and refused to drive further until we agreed on where he wanted to take us. Thankfully I have been in Thailand for a while now and expected this attitude so we simply got off ignored him and caught the next one.

WHEN YOU VISIT BANGKOK, DO NOT TAKE NONSENSE FROM THE TUK TUK DRIVERS...
