Carvings on the Bridge Walls





Now this is a strange one but the Fir Lake in downtown Guilin has various bridges of all shapes and sized crossing it. I found one with the most interesting carvings on the underside in the tunnel you walk through to the other side.

No-one seems to know what the significance of these carvings are, but they were so beautiful that I decided to take pictures and post them anyway...












When you see walls like the above you understand why the state has ruled that Guilin amongst other cities and towns within China has to adhere to a certain standards when it comes to taking care of their heritage and cultural relics.
