At the entrance to the Shuyuan Xiang area is the famous Folk House. This historic residence serves as an art gallery, tea house and entertainment centre.
The main street of Shuyuan is full of centuries old art supplies, paper cuts, calligraphy, art, brushes etc. This is artist heaven and I so wished I had a house where I could take all this stuff to if I bought it. This is a definite place I will return to once I have settled down to stock up on all the things I want to spur my creativity.
They have been hanged to dry and will be used to make paint brushes at a later stage...
