The Muslin Floating Village

The Muslim floating village is where you stop for lunch on the local James Bond Island tours. The village is almost two hundred years old and was established back then by mainly Indonesian fisherman which fished the local waters around Phang Nga Bay. Today it is a thriving village set on top of stilts with a magnificent limestone backdrop. It has about two thousand inhabitants, with a school, a mosque and small hospital.

The main trade in the village is tourism and you will find everything you can find in the Krabi and Phuket markets but at twice to three times the price.

Still a good spot to visit and see local Thai life. The food was great and the company even better.

Thanks mom and Tannie Koekie :)
